Success at the World Sports Arnis British Championship! 🏆

On Sunday 6th April, we were proud to send a small but mighty group of students to the World Sports Arnis British Championship in Luton.

For most of our competitors, this was their very first martial arts competition—and they absolutely rose to the occasion! Between Single Stick and Double Stick events, our fighters brought home an impressive 4 Golds and 2 Silvers.

Medal Tally:

  • Single Stick: 2 Golds, 1 Silver

  • Double Stick: 2 Golds, 1 Silver

A special shoutout goes to Toby Lee, who competed for the very first time and delivered an outstanding performance—taking Gold in both Single and Double Stick! A huge achievement for a first-time competitor and one to be proud of.

Another memorable highlight came from our Legacy Founder Member, Peter Dunne, who entered what he had previously announced would be his final competition. At 71 years old, he was the oldest competitor in the entire Championships. Stepping onto the mat one last time, Peter displayed immense heart and spirit, —taking Gold in both Single and Double Stick and leaving a lasting legacy that will inspire many for years to come.

We also celebrate the success of Peter Hogg, who competed in the Super Heavyweight division finals in both Single and Double Stick. He came away with two well-earned Silver medals after closely fought matches—an excellent showing.

We’re incredibly proud of all our competitors for stepping up, giving it their all, and representing our Academy with such courage and determination.

A massive thank you to Steve and the rest of our support team who came along to cheer, coach, and keep spirits high throughout the day. Your support made all the difference.

Here’s to many more competitions, milestones, and victories ahead!
