Brazilian Jiujitsu
Brazilian Jiujitsu (BJJ) is a self-defence martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting and submission holds.
This Hoxton based class focuses on the skill of controlling one's opponent, using technique and leverage and not strength so as to gain a dominant position, and uses skill to force them in to submission via joint locks or chokeholds.

All Levels Class
This is a regular class designed for people with a solid understanding of fundamental techniques. Attendees should have some experience in sparring (though this is not essential) and a good grasp of positional control. This class builds on foundational skills, introducing more complex submissions, transitions and advanced strategies, catering to those seeking to deepen their jiujitsu knowledge.
Nogi Class
This is a regular class designed for people with a solid understanding of fundamental techniques. Attendees should have some experience in sparring (though this is not essential) and a good grasp of positional control. This class builds on foundational skills, introducing more complex submissions, transitions and advanced strategies, catering to those seeking to deepen their jiujitsu knowledge.
Technical Sparring
This is a sparring class targeted at those who want to improve their sparring technique. This class is not for absolute beginners.
If you want to train in the Gi you can; if you want to train Nogi you can too; if you want to do Gi and Nogi - you can do both!
As it is a relaxed format, attendees can spend their time refining technique, working on something they saw elsewhere or just having some friendly rolls (sparring).
These sessions are open to anyone inside or outside the academy subject to our Open Mat/ Technical Sparring Policy. A drop-in fee applies to non-members.
